Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Kentucky is seeking a Route Supervisor to oversee a team of drivers, ensuring safe and reliable waste collection services for customers and communities.

You will train, coach, and evaluate performance, plan daily routes, monitor safety, and manage attendance. A valid Class B CDL and DOT medical card are required, with willingness to work nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a valid Class B CDL.
• Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire.
• Must be at least 19 years of age.
• No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
• Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
• Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.
• Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
• Ability to travel between offices, as required.
• Ability to work flexible hours; nights and weekends as needed.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
• Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
• Must be able to read and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers
• Train, coach, and direct employees to improve their overall performance
• Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded
• Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns)
• Monitor and track employee attendance and all other required documentation relating to performance management
• Perform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections
• Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements
• Conduct investigations for accidents, injuries, and property damage claims
• Fill in during the absence of other supervisors/office employees or drivers
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
