Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling in New Castle (Henry County IN Campus) is seeking a Route Supervisor to oversee a team of drivers and ensure safe, on-time service. You will assist management with hiring, training, coaching, performance evaluations, and safety compliance while maintaining high customer service standards.

The ideal candidate will have a valid Class B CDL, DOT medical card, and the ability to read maps.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a valid Class B CDL
• Must have a valid DOT Medical Card
• Must be at least 19 years of age
• No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years
• Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years
• Must be able to read and speak the English language
• Must successfully complete pre-employment testing

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers
• Train, coach, and direct employees to improve their overall performance
• Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded
• Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns)
• Monitor and track employee attendance and all other required documentation relating to performance management
• Perform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections
• Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements
• Conduct investigations for accidents, injuries, and property damage claims
• Fill in during the absence of other supervisors/office employees or drivers
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
