Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling in Kentucky is seeking a Route Supervisor to manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers. You will train, coach, and direct staff to improve overall performance while enforcing quality and safety standards across routes.

Key requirements include excellent communication, team leadership, and the ability to read maps; a valid Class B CDL and DOT Medical Card; and willingness to work nights, weekends, overtime, and travel between offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a valid Class B CDL.
• Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire.
• Must be at least 19 years of age.
• No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
• Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers
• Train, coach, and direct employees to improve their overall performance
• Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded
• Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns)
• Monitor and track employee attendance and all other required documentation relating to performance management
• Perform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections
• Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements
• Conduct investigations for accidents, injuries, and property damage claims
• Fill in during the absence of other supervisors/office employees or drivers
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
