Job summary

Flowers Foods, Inc. is seeking a Route Sales Representative (RSR) to manage ordering, sales, delivery, and merchandising of fresh baked products. You will develop relationships with store managers and staff, service accounts across retail, restaurants, and institutions, and drive sales to meet and exceed targets.

The role may require working non-traditional hours, weekends, or holidays as needed. A DOT certification is required and you will operate heavy vehicles in a dynamic market.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year related experience in retail sales, DSD sales, and/or business-to-business sales.
• High school diploma or GED.
• DOT medical certification eligibility to drive a CMV.

Responsibilities

• Act as a sales associate and delivery driver to drive retail sales and territory sales.
• Leverage internal sales data and company marketing plans to drive growth with customers through proper planning, ordering, and execution.
• Establish and maintain strong customer relations to communicate sales solutions and improve customer satisfaction.
• Order product using an online state-of-the-art order planner to ensure customers receive the freshest product.
• Increase sales through shelf space expansion and the sale/use of in-store promotions and displays.
• Adhere to route structure, stop sequence, and service times to drive efficiency and ensure consistent service times.
• Follow retailer/account SOPs including check in/check out and service windows.
• Follow shelf-life rotation and ensure backstock is stocked first before next delivery.
• Perform daily route settlements: verify quantities, invoice accounts, and adhere to cash policy.
• Perform weekly inventory in handheld device at select accounts on designated days.
• Support introduction of new products based on retailer playbooks to gain shelf space and displays.
• Obtain authorization from accounts for promotional displays and maximize exposure.
