Job summary

Meridian Waste is seeking a Residential Driver to safely operate a collection truck and provide prompt, courteous waste removal services for customers. The role requires ensuring the vehicle meets safety standards and regulatory compliance before operation, and completing vehicle condition reports daily to address any defects.

You will interact with customers and dispatchers in a professional manner, adhere to routes, and maintain productivity while upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

• CDL class B or higher with air brakes endorsement.
• Two years of experience operating heavy commercial trucks.
• Excellent reading and writing skills.
• Strong customer-service orientation and safety consciousness.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections.
• Safely operate the collection truck on assigned routes and service customers.
• Load refuse and operate the packer while adhering to safety policies.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and coworkers.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag accordingly.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material and clean spills per safety standards.
• Keep vehicle in good condition to minimize downtime and complete daily reports.
• Meet productivity standards and maintain timely service for all customers.
• Follow company safety policies and maintain a respectful work conduct.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
