Job summary

Meridian Waste is seeking a Residential Driver to operate a collection truck and provide prompt, courteous waste removal services to customers. The role requires ensuring the vehicle complies with safety standards before operation and completing daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects promptly.

Responsibilities include route service, safety compliance, interacting with customers, and maintaining productivity and accuracy in reporting.

Qualifications

• CDL class B or higher with air brakes endorsement.
• Two years of prior experience driving heavy commercial trucks.
• Excellent reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre-and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tires, fluids, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order.
• Safely operate truck along designated route and to the disposal site; service each customer on the route.
• Operate controls to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of material at the facility.
• Interact courteously with customers and dispatchers to ensure timely service.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers as required.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material and clean up spills according to safety standards.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and clean waste from packer blade and body on each trip.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets and vehicle condition reports.
• Maintain adherence to productivity standards for timely and efficient service.
• Provide professional customer service and uphold honesty and trust.
• Manage time effectively to complete responsibilities safely.
• Follow work schedules and address challenges promptly.
• Adhere to company safety policies and prevent unsafe risks.
• Demonstrate pride in work and strive to meet goals.
• Follow all safety policies and perform additional duties as assigned.
