Job summary

Meridian Waste seeks a Commercial Driver to safely operate a collection truck and provide prompt, courteous waste removal services. The role ensures the vehicle complies with safety standards and routine vehicle condition reports are completed daily to address any defects.

The position requires a Class B CDL with air brakes, two years of experience driving heavy trucks, and strong reading/writing skills. Local routes with a focus on safety and customer service are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
• Two years of prior experience driving heavy commercial trucks.
• Excellent reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tires, fluids, safety equipment, gauges and controls are in proper working order.
• Safely operate heavy trucks on designated routes and to disposal sites; follow route sheets and service each customer as identified or assigned.
• Load refuse and operate the compactor in accordance with safety policies to dispose of material at the designated facility.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and others to ensure routes are serviced timely and professionally.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers per procedures.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable waste and clean spills in accordance with safety standards.
