Job summary

Meridian Waste is seeking a Residential Driver to safely operate a collection truck and provide prompt, courteous waste removal services. You will ensure the vehicle meets safety standards before operation and complete daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects.

The role requires a Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement, 2 years of heavy-truck driving experience, and strong reading/writing skills. Work is performed in a warehouse/shop environment with routine customer interaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle.
• Safely operate truck along designated route to the disposal site and service customers.
• Operate controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of material at the facility.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and others daily.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable waste and clean up spills per safety standards.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and clean waste from packer blade and truck body.
• Complete route/productivity sheets and Vehicle Condition Reports.
• Maintain productivity standards to service customers timely and efficiently.
• Provide professional customer service and uphold safety policies.
• Follow work schedule and safety policies; perform additional duties as assigned.
