Job summary

Meridian Waste is seeking a Commercial Driver to operate a collection truck and deliver reliable waste removal services across assigned routes. You will ensure the vehicle meets safety standards and complies with company and regulatory requirements before each trip.

The role emphasizes prompt customer service, adherence to schedules, and safe operation. Ideal candidates have a CDL Class B with air brakes endorsement and at least two years of driving experience, with strong reading and writing

Qualifications

• CDL Class B with air brakes endorsement required.
• Two years of experience driving heavy commercial trucks.
• Excellent reading and writing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle.
• Safely operate heavy truck along designated route and to disposal site.
• Operate controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of material at facility.
• Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and others.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and clean spills safely.
• Monitor vehicle condition to minimize downtime; clean areas as needed.
• Complete route/productivity sheets and vehicle condition reports.
• Maintain productivity standards to service customers promptly.
• Adhere to safety policies and promote safety standards.
• Demonstrate good time management and follow-through.
• Follow company policies and safety rules; take no unnecessary risks.
• Maintain pride in work and strive to achieve goals.
