Job summary

Linde Inc. in Freeport, TX is seeking an entry level Chemical/Mechanical Engineer for the Leadership Technical Orientation Program (LTOP). This 52-week program provides broad exposure to plant operations across multiple product lines and hands-on experience with startups, maintenance, and process optimization.

You will participate in a mentored leadership development track, collaborate with process engineering and operations teams, and have opportunities to relocate for program assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a GPA of 3.0+ strongly preferred.
• Zero to three years of experience supported by internship or cooperative education roles.
• Effective communication, cross-functional relationships, and adaptability to shifting needs.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and relocate as required for program assignments.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 52-week structured curriculum exposing plant operations across multiple product lines.
• Engage in hands-on operational activities such as startups, shutdowns, maintenance, project planning, training, troubleshooting, safety program execution, and daily plant support.
• Operate process equipment via control systems and in the field, including motors, compressors, pumps, instrumentation, and utilities.
• Monitor efficiency and energy usage, optimize operating modes, and implement changes to improve plant performance.
• Support quality assurance, ensure regulatory compliance, assist distribution and operations, and execute projects within budgets and schedules.
• Collaborate with process engineering, project engineering, controls, maintenance, reliability, safety, and operations teams with mentored leadership development.
