Job summary

Omni Mount Washington Resort & Spa in Bretton Woods, NH, is seeking a Rooms Controller to manage daily room assignments, reconcile overbooking across categories, and align with revenue and guest satisfaction goals.

You will master check-in/out policies, handle Select Guest and VIP upgrades, coordinate with Housekeeping and other departments, and train new Front Desk staff in a fast-paced, guest-centric environment.

• Understand room type availability and inter-department relationships.

Overview

The main purpose of the Rooms Controller is to control the house the same day and short term. This person must assure that overbooking in room categories is reconciles and that room are reserved as efficiently as possible. The objective is to promote operations and marketing goals of maximizing revenue and guest satisfaction.

Essential Functions

• To be thoroughly acquainted with all check-in policies and procedures.
• Ensure Select Guests, VIPS, American Express, and "chase the edit" are assigned and upgraded appropriately.
• To be thoroughly acquainted with all check-out policies and procedures.
• To be familiar with guest scenarios.
• To be familiar with all technical equipment related to the Front Desk.
• Review group resumes and note information in Log Book on the appropriate day.
• Review and clear all flags and respond to emails timely.
• To be familiar with all hotel facilities.
• Must have complete understanding of room type availability and knowledge of transferring reservations to and from Bretton Arms and Main Hotel.
• To be familiar with all hotel facilities.
• Must have complete understanding of room type availability.
• To be familiar with the inter-relationship between the different departments, especially Housekeeping and Room Service.
• Understands and complete the Rooms Controller Checklist daily.
• Ensure Duplicate Check is completed.
• Must have full understanding of Select Guest Program
• Must be able to train new Front Desk Associates.
• Manage all daily room changes.
• Understand the Reservations restrictions board.
• Must be able to run desk in short staff situations
• Must have complete understanding of blocking the house.
