Vital Records Control (VRC) is seeking an ROI Specialist I in the VitalChart department to process requests for medical records with high accuracy and privacy. You will ensure HIPAA compliance, verify authorizations, and log activities in ROI software while coordinating with supervisors.

The role emphasizes timely processing, attention to detail, and strong communication with healthcare clients, requestors, and team members, with on-site work and potential for remote support as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) required; degree preferred.
• Prior ROI fulfillment experience preferred.
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
• Prioritize, organize and meet deadlines.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Maintain productivity and quality performance.
• Able to read/write/speak English; bilingual desirable.

Responsabilités

• Process ROI requests for healthcare clients following HIPAA and policy requirements.
• Verify patient authorizations for compliance with HIPAA and regulations.
• Classify request types and log into ROI software.
• Retrieve and upload relevant portions of patient charts from electronic or physical repositories.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and privacy compliance.
• Prepare and send records to authorized requestors and reject non-compliant requests.
• Document communications and exceptions in ROI software.
• Escalate any issues to supervisor and protect PHI at all times.
