Job summary

MRO is seeking an ROI Specialist to support client sites with Release of Information requests. You will review requests, determine records to release per HIPAA, and access data from multiple sources.

You will answer ROI questions by phone and assist walk-ins, logging data into ROI On-Line and processing physician requests as needed. You will log and scan records, comply with site policies, and handle cash payments where required.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with Release of Information in a physician’s office or HIM is a plus.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations preferred.
• Proficient with computers and internet.
• Ability to work independently and meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Determine records to release by reviewing requestor information per HIPAA and locate patient data from various sources.
• Answer calls about ROI issues and assist walk-in customers by logging information into ROI On-Line.
• Process requests from physician offices as needed and fax information.
• Log and scan medical records into ROI On-Line database.
• Comply with site policies and regulations; handle cash payments where required.
• Demonstrate proficiency with computer applications and data entry; maintain attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively with customers; dependable and able to work independently.
