Job summary

MRO Corporation is seeking an ROI Specialist to support client-site release of information requests. You will determine which records to release under HIPAA, obtain patient data from multiple sources, and log all activity in the ROI On-Line database.

You will answer calls and walk-in inquiries, process physician-office requests, scan documents, and ensure compliance with facility policies. Prior ROI experience and knowledge of medical terminology are a plus.

Qualifications

• One or more years of data-entry experience.
• Ability to work independently and meet production goals.
• Strong verbal communication and customer-service skills.
• Attention to detail and dependability.
• HIPAA knowledge preferred.
• Experience in ROI in physician office or HIM is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determines records to be released by reviewing requestor information per HIPAA and obtains patient data from various sources.
• Answers phone calls concerning ROI issues.
• Responds to walk-in customers and logs information into ROI On-Line database.
• Processes physician-office requests on priority and faxes information.
• Logs medical record requests into ROI On-Line database.
• Scans medical records into ROI On-Line database.
• Complies with site policies and regulations.
• Handles and records cash payments for requests at specified sites.
• Other duties as assigned.
