Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Turbo Machinery Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems for rocket engines, ensuring stringent quality control and optimized production timelines.

You will collaborate with design, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to deploy DFM/DFA/DFT, develop manufacturing documentation, and evaluate new technologies to reduce cycle times and improve first-pass yields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• 1+ years creating English work instructions.
• Experience in high-rate aerospace/ automotive is preferred.
• Experience with machining, assembly, balancing rotating hardware, NDT, or precision cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT).
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design engineering, QA, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate space-grade manufacturing.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process diagrams.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies (machining, welding, additive manufacturing).
• Support root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO9001 quality standards; support safety initiatives.
