Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to translate engineering concepts into efficient production processes. You’ll support assembly, integration, and tooling development across aerospace hardware, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, documentation, and collaboration with design, test, and operations teams to drive manufacturability and continuous improvements within AS9100/ISO 9001 frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline; relevant field accepted.
• 3+ years in manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with high-rate aerospace or automotive assembly preferred.
• Ability to develop processes compliant with AS9100/ISO9001.
• Strong written, verbal, and software skills (CAD, scheduling, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering intent into functional manufacturing hardware.
• Support floor assembly and integration ensuring adherence to engineering requirements.
• Serve as liaison between design, test, manufacturing, and operations.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions for all processes.
• Discrepancy disposition and root-cause investigation with corrective actions.
• Create in-build redlines and recommend design changes to improve manufacturability.
• Troubleshoot and operate equipment as needed.
• Review engineering drawings and approve manufacturing outputs.
• Perform FMEA studies to improve feedback across design, build, test.
• Drive DFMA across product life cycle; push continuous improvements.
• Ensure work aligns with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards.
