Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL, is seeking dedicated manufacturing engineers to design, develop, and optimize production processes for space propulsion components.

You will translate engineering requirements into robust manufacturing workflows, contribute to DFM/DFT, maintain documentation, and collaborate with design, quality, supply chain, and production teams to enable reliable, safe, and repeatable fabrication of BE-4/BE-3U engines.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 3+ years Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer experience, 5+ years Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer, 8+ years Sr Manufacturing Engineer.
  • 1+ year of experience creating English work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT), key to building reliable vehicles for space exploration.
  • Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes that support Blue Origin's mission.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans.
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (e.g., precision machining, welding, brazing, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
  • Support root cause analysis of process or product non‑conformances; develop and implement corrective actions that enhance reliability and performance.
  • Ensure all work aligns with applicable quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001), supporting a safe and sustainable future in space.
  • Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
  • Apply emerging AI technologies alongside traditional manufacturing engineering tools to optimize processes, reduce cycle times, and improve first‑time quality.
