Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Huntsville, AL seeks a Turbo Machinery Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement efficient manufacturing systems for space propulsion programs. You will translate engineering requirements into repeatable processes and collaborate with design, quality, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.

The role focuses on DFM/ DFA/ DFT, process documentation, and evaluating advanced manufacturing methods, while ensuring compliance with AS9100/ISO

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 0-3 years Level 1 Manufacturing Engineer, 3+ years Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer, 5+ years Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer, 8+ years Sr Manufacturing Engineer.
• 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT).
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate production.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (machining, welding, brazing, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root cause analysis of non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality standards and safety requirements.
• Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
• Apply emerging AI technologies to optimize processes, reduce cycle times, and improve first-time quality.
