Job summary

DoorDash Labs is seeking a Technician Lead for an on-site role in the Bay Area (Fremont, San Jose, Sunnyvale). This “player-coach” position spends most of the day hands-on performing diagnostics and repairs while guiding the team to meet uptime goals.

You’ll be the primary escalation point, ensuring safety and efficiency on the shop floor, reporting to the Operations Manager, Service Operations. You will lead complex hardware and control-unit repairs, translate high-level goals into daily tasks,

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of service work experience.
• Experience leading or training team members is a plus.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Prior fleet or vehicle service experience.
• Familiarity with work order management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to hit fleet uptime and repair goals while hands-on diagnosing and repairing complex systems.
• Act as the first escalation point for the team and ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Own and refine service center workflows to improve repair accuracy and shop efficiency.
• Deliver clear, timely shift handovers and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
• Drive medium-to-high complexity projects tied to fleet uptime from start to finish.
