Job summary

The Center for Human and Robot Co-Adaptation (HRC) at UT Austin is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to develop, integrate, and deploy a common robotics software stack that supports HERO deployments across sites. You will build ROS 2 packages and interfaces while enabling researchers to translate evolving software into robust, deployable systems, with strong testing and deployment support.

• Strong software engineering experience in complex robotic systems.
• Ability to translate research software into deployable systems.
• Experience with testing, deployment, and maintenance of software stacks.

Responsibilities

• Own and standardize the robotics software stack across HERO sites.
• Develop ROS 2 packages, interfaces, and launch/config systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex software failures spanning middleware and hardware interfaces.
• Collaborate with researchers and hardware engineer to ensure integration.
• Support integration of AI capabilities and perception components.
