Job summary

Wayve is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to join our Online Calibration team, supporting scaling across autonomous vehicle fleets. You will turn calibration methods into reliable, observable components for on-vehicle runtime, collaborating with calibration, state estimation, and hardware teams.

You’ll develop production software for online calibration on hardware-accelerated platforms, handle asynchronous sensor data, and help shape architecture and roadmaps for foundational capabilities

Qualifications

• Experience in sensor calibration, state estimation, or robotics domain.
• Understanding of Kalman-family filters, Bayesian estimation, smoothing, or factor-graph optimisation.
• Strong C++ software engineering skills and Python proficiency.
• Experience productionising algorithm-heavy robotics software for vehicles or edge platforms.
• Experience with asynchronous, high-throughput sensor data and hardware-accelerated pipelines.
• Software architecture, API design, testing, debugging, and performance-profiling skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust production software for online calibration on constrained, hardware-accelerated platforms.
• Extend and integrate calibration and estimation algorithms for onboard execution.
• Handle asynchronous sensor data, accelerator-produced features, and time-varying calibration parameters.
• Strengthen validation, gating, persistence, and interfaces between calibration node, onboard state, runtime consumers, logging, and fleet systems.
• Profile and optimise compute, memory, storage, and latency paths without compromising correctness.
• Build simulation, replay, bench, and on-vehicle tests; improve metrics and fleet observability.
