Job summary

Wayve is seeking a Staff Robotics Engineer, 3D Sensing to lead LiDAR and cross-sensor 3D sensing development. You will own calibration, synchronization and alignment of LiDARs with cameras to enable accurate 3D data for perception and ground-truth generation.

This senior individual-contributor role shapes architecture and roadmap for 3D sensing while actively contributing to algorithms, evaluation and deployment across diverse vehicles and environments. Hybrid London or Sunnyvale office.

Qualifications

• Significant robotics or autonomous-driving experience with LiDAR, cameras and 3D data.
• Expertise in LiDAR-to-camera calibration and cross-sensor registration.
• Strong understanding of geometry, state estimation and optimisation techniques.
• Experience with timing effects, synchronization and motion compensation.
• Production-grade software engineering in C++/Python and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and roadmap for 3D sensing capabilities.
• Lead calibration and registration methods for LiDAR and cameras.
• Develop temporal alignment and motion compensation methods.
• Establish evaluation methodologies and productionise 3D sensing systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor other engineers.
