Job summary

Mission Design & Automation seeks a Robotics Field Service Engineer to install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize robotic automation systems at customer facilities across West Michigan. You will receive hands-on training in robotics, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting across diverse manufacturing processes.

Expect 50-60% local travel with up to 25% overnight trips; 7am–4pm shop hours.

Qualifications

3–5 years of experience in the automation industry.
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with robotics and/or automation.
Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
Experience with FANUC robot programming preferred (iRVision, Roboguide, DCS, CollisionGuard, SpotTool, ArcTool).

Responsibilities

Install, upgrade, troubleshoot and/or repair industrial automation systems at customer facilities.
Diagnose and repair robots and peripheral equipment using systematic troubleshooting methods.
Provide remote technical support by phone or other platforms.
Perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and system audits to maximize reliability.
Collaborate with Engineering, Build, and Controls teams during installation at customer sites.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service and timely documentation.
