Job summary

Mission Design & Automation is seeking a Robotics Field Service Engineer to install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize robotic automation systems at customer facilities in West Michigan. You will receive hands-on training in robotics and maintenance while traveling locally and occasionally overnight.

The role is a full-time, onsite position in Holland, MI with 50–60% local travel and up to 25% overnight travel.

Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the automation industry.
Strong ability to diagnose complex equipment issues using systematic troubleshooting.
Proficient in reading mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and BOMs.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Install, upgrade, troubleshoot and/or repair industrial automation systems at customer facilities.
Diagnose and repair a wide variety of industrial robots and peripheral equipment using systematic troubleshooting methods.
Provide remote technical support by phone or other platforms, assisting customers with troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and system audits to maximize reliability.
Analyze robot performance, cycle times, and process efficiency to optimize system performance.
Collaborate with Engineering, Build, and Controls teams during installation at customer sites.
Provide on-site operator, maintenance, and programming training to customers.
