Job summary

James David Staffing is seeking a Field Service Technician for a robotics and industrial automation client with a location in Fenton, MI. The role involves on-site installation, startup and commissioning to ensure systems run correctly.

You will diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues, perform preventive maintenance, read schematics, configure sensors, and train customers on safe operation. Travel to sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, or related field
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, or servicing industrial robotic equipment
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to read schematics and manuals
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites as needed
• Experience with FANUC, ABB, Yaskawa, KUKA, or Universal Robots is a plus

Responsibilities

• Install robotic systems and automation equipment at customer sites
• Handle startup, commissioning and testing to ensure proper operation
• Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
• Perform preventive maintenance and document service work
• Configure and calibrate sensors and vision systems
• Train customers on safe operation and usage
• Travel to customer sites as required
