Tutor Intelligence, Inc. in Watertown, MA is seeking a Field Reliability Engineer to diagnose and resolve complex robot-system failures across our fleet.

You will review logs, run tests, and coordinate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to implement robust fixes for field deployments. The role requires strong communication, hands-on troubleshooting, and the ability to lead root-cause investigations, with 50–75% travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• 1 to 7 years of experience in field engineering, controls, automation, test or hardware engineering, or senior field service on robotic or industrial automation systems.
• Demonstrated record of resolving complex failures, with clear documentation of root cause, fix and measured result.
• Structured troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, networking and software systems.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Working knowledge of Linux, the command line and system logs.
• Experience using scripting or AI tools to analyze data, run checks and prepare reports.
• Experience leading root‑cause investigations with engineering teams and driving corrective actions to completion.
• Experience training technicians and writing clear procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication with technicians, engineers, customers and leadership.
• Comfortable working in warehouse and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to travel 50 to 75% of the time, sometimes on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigation and resolution of the most difficult technical problems across the robot fleet.
• Review logs, telemetry and parts history to diagnose and test theories.
• Run root cause analysis and create action plans with engineering ownership of hardware.
• Propose fixes and coordinate with Engineering/Manufacturing to apply in field and in new builds.
• Lead first installation of new robot models and run major upgrade campaigns.
• Take major customer escalations on a national rotation and document procedures.
