Job summary

Tutor Intelligence, Inc. is seeking a quality and reliability engineer to own production and field quality for electromechanical hardware. You will lead containment, root-cause analysis, and supplier collaboration to improve reliability across robot systems.

You’ll build AI-enabled failure-tracking tools, drive FRACAS implementations, and set up robust quality gates for incoming parts and finished robots. This onsite role in Watertown, MA includes up to 25% travel and a path to scale quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in quality, reliability, test or hardware engineering.
• Experience working with suppliers on RMAs and corrective actions.
• Experience building AI-powered tools (scripts, dashboards) used by others.
• Proficient in Python or SQL for failure data analysis.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Containment and MRB: quarantine suspect stock and identify every robot in the factory and field that could be affected; run weekly MRB with disposition, RCA owners, and corrective actions.
• Failure analysis on returned material: own FA on every returned part and field failure; direct technicians on teardowns and bench tests; verify fixes.
• FRACAS and reliability data: build/run FRACAS using AI tools on MES/field tickets/telemetry; track failures by component, supplier, serial; set MTBF targets.
• Supplier RMAs: be technical POC with suppliers on RMAs; send failure data/FA results; drive root cause and corrective actions.
• Quality gates: set pass/fail criteria for incoming parts and finished robots; verify gaps are addressed; qualify new/refurbished parts and supplier changes.
