Job summary

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Robotics Systems Engineer II to lead end-to-end deployment of large-scale automation across North America fulfillment centers. The role requires onsite coordination, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on problem solving with diverse teams including hardware, software, safety, and operations.

Willingness to travel up to 75% is essential. The successful candidate will work from multiple MA sites, including North Reading, and will participate in the go-live

Qualifications

• 5+ years of site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration experience.
• 5+ years of Linux experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience.
• Experience in Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage tactical deployment of large scale industrial automation technologies, from alpha/beta to GA.
• Own tactical execution of on-site installation and acceptance testing to meet go-live dates.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, PMs, product managers, and internal customers to convert requirements into deployment documents.
• Improve operational metrics and team processes through automation and optimization.
• Independently resolve difficult technical problems during deployment with trade-offs between time, quality, and resources.
• Create and improve standard work documents and guidebooks, and automate processes where possible.
• Influence internal and partner teams to meet goals.
• Develop subject matter depth in deployment domains.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical assessments.
• Drive operational excellence initiatives with measurable results.
