Job summary

Dover Food Retail in South Chesterfield, VA is seeking an Assembler II to program, operate and troubleshoot automated or robotic machinery used in producing sheet metal refrigerated cases. This role requires reading orders, selecting correct parts, and assembling components to spec.

The position supports a 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm) and requires basic maintenance of equipment, with opportunity for performance-based commissions. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED.
• Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
• May be required to perform standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, or kneeling.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (recurring basis).
• Work is performed in a production environment with temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, noise and dust.

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend an "A" order.
• Identify parts used on their assigned product line and their placement.
• Identify power and hand tools used on their line.
• Read and comprehend the work order.
• Perform assembly using hand or power tools.
• Identify parts and part descriptions using work order information.
• Use material gauging and dimensioning information.
• Read rulers, tape measures and other measuring instruments.
• Fasten parts with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or fasteners.
• Work at different workstations as production needs require.
• Collaborate in assembly to build units to completion.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tooling.
