Saline County Kansas is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator I to maintain drainage systems and roadways. You will operate a wide range of equipment and supervise the territory truck driver while coordinating with seasonal staff as needed.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement, manual transmission, air brake, and vehicle combinations, plus a high school diploma or equivalent. Overtime may be needed for emergencies and snow removal.

Formación

• Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
• Must meet the requirements of Heavy Equipment Operator I.
• Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License with tanker endorsement, manual transmission, air brake, and combination vehicles.

Responsabilidades

• Operate snowplow, roller, loaders, front-end loader, backhoe, scraper, tractor, bulldozers, broom, oiler trucks, dump truck, semi-trailer, grass mowers, patch truck, winch truck, mini-excavator, motor graders, and other equipment for drainage, roads and bridges.
• supervise the work of the territory truck driver and provide direction to seasonal or temporary employees when authorized.
• Perform equipment preventive maintenance as outlined in the Operator Manual.
• Manage territory ~90 miles including drainage, materials, safety, vegetation, snow removal, culverts; public relations and tree-cutting permissions.
• Inspect drainage structures and report condition; keep daily records, timesheets, maps, daily activity reports, work orders, and maintenance documentation.
• Work off-hours to assist during emergencies and respond to public complaints.
