Job summary

United Future in the Triangle is seeking a Roadway / Utility Superintendent to lead day and night field crews on highway, roadway, and utility projects around Raleigh. This role requires strong DOT/ NCDOT project experience and the ability to manage multiple crews and schedules.

You will own safety, coordinate with inspectors, and ensure timely reports, with relocation options for Triangle locals. The contractor offers a full benefits package and a long runway of work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy civil roadway/underground utility experience at superintendent or senior foreman level.
• DOT roadway or utility project experience; night work is a plus.
• Experience reading plans and specs; ability to estimate quantities.
• Knowledge of work zone traffic control.
• Willing to work day or night shifts as needed.
• Valid driver's license; NCDOT experience a plus.
• OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
• Based in the Triangle or willing to relocate to Raleigh area.

Responsibilities

• Run day and night shift field operations on roadway and utility projects
• Lead roadway, grading and underground utility crews and their foremen
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, equipment and material deliveries
• Plan the work and hold the project schedule shift to shift
• Own jobsite safety, toolbox talks and OSHA compliance on every shift
• Set up and manage traffic control and lane closures inside approved work windows
• Work directly with NCDOT inspectors and project engineers
• Track installed quantities and daily production
• Complete daily reports, crew time and field documentation
• Coordinate handoffs with the project manager and the other shift
