Job summary

You'll work with NCDOT inspectors, read plans, manage traffic control, and report daily production. This is a stable opportunity with an established contractor serving NC and VA, offering growth and a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy civil roadway and/or underground utility experience.
• DOT roadway or utility project experience; night work is a plus.
• Able to read plans and specs and keep accurate quantities.
• Valid driver's license.
• NCDOT project experience is a plus.
• OSHA 30 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run day and night shift field operations on roadway and utility projects.
• Lead roadway, grading and underground utility crews and their foremen.
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, equipment and material deliveries.
• Plan the work and hold the project schedule shift to shift.
• Own jobsite safety, toolbox talks and OSHA compliance on every shift.
• Set up and manage traffic control and lane closures inside approved work windows.
• Work directly with NCDOT inspectors and project engineers.
• Track installed quantities and daily production.
• Complete daily reports, crew time and field documentation.
• Coordinate handoffs with the project manager and the other shift.
