Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation in Wayne County seeks a Roadway Programs Technician 1 to support maintenance operations. You will assist with inspections, inventory tracking, and program oversight across field and office tasks, contributing to safe roadway activities.

The role emphasizes data collection, contractor coordination, and recordkeeping, with a schedule 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, Monday–Friday, and no telework.

Qualifications

One year of experience as a Technical Assistant or equivalent.
One year of experience in data analysis for planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment.
An Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or related field.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

Monitor roadside programs, meet with contractors, and verify safety standards and procedures.
Track herbicide materials and storeroom supplies for proper storage and availability.
Collect crash data, document site conditions, and enter records into systems.
Review contractor work, schedule services, verify completion, and ensure safety compliance.
Run and review maintenance reports, assist with SAP transactions, and support planning.
Process invoices, research discrepancies, manage surplus items and ordering records.
