Job summary

The Roadway Programs Technician 1 position with the Department of Transportation supports roadway programs by reviewing data, assisting with inventory, and coordinating county training and maintenance activities. It offers a chance to develop skills in data review and program coordination within a collaborative team.

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework is not available.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Technical Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or
• An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Data Review: Analyze information to monitor program goals and resolve discrepancies
• Inventory Checks: Assist with stockpile reviews and run inventory reports to track usage and surplus
• Report Monitoring: Review daily and monthly reports to compare utilization and settle vendor issues
• Waste Tracking: Monitor hazardous and municipal waste records and coordinate scheduled pickups
• Training Support: Help determine training needs, schedule courses, and maintain accurate training records
• Storeroom Duties: Receive orders, enter goods receipts, and issue materials to field and garage staff
