Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Roadway Programs Technician 1 to support data review, inventory, and training coordination for roadway programs. This role builds skills in data review and program coordination while fostering teamwork.

Responsibilities include data analysis, inventory reporting, and coordinating training and maintenance activities, with standard 7:00 AM–3:00 PM hours and no telework option.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Technical Assistant or equivalent.
• One year of experience in analysis of data used in planning and scheduling of work.
• An Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or related field.

• Storeroom Duties: Receive orders, enter goods receipts, and issue materials to field and garage staff.

Job description

The Roadway Programs Technician 1 with the Department of Transportation lets you play a key part in keeping roadway programs accurate and efficient. You will work with reports, inventory, and training activities that help crews stay prepared. The role builds your skills in data review and program coordination. This position supports roadway programs by reviewing data, assisting with inventory, and helping coordinate county training and maintenance activities. As a Roadway Programs Technician 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Data Review: Analyze information to monitor program goals and resolve discrepancies
• Inventory Checks: Assist with stockpile reviews and run inventory reports to track usage and surplus
• Report Monitoring: Review daily and monthly reports to compare utilization and settle vendor issues
• Waste Tracking: Monitor hazardous and municipal waste records and coordinate scheduled pickups
• Training Support: Help determine training needs, schedule courses, and maintain accurate training records
• Storeroom Duties: Receive orders, enter goods receipts, and issue materials to field and garage staff

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements.
• Overtime and shift work required
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as a Technical Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or
• An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program.;or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
