Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a Equipment Operator to support DOT projects in Georgetown, SC. You will operate a tandem dump truck and other medium equipment to haul materials such as asphalt, limestone, dirt, and cement, and assist with pothole repairs and patching.

Responsibilities include coordinating traffic control devices for work zones, assisting with emergency responses, and potentially extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operates a tandem dump truck to haul materials for DOT projects (asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe).
• Operates medium equipment such as skid steers, belt loaders, tractors, and large rollers.
• Performs pothole repairs and roadway/shoulder patching as part of a 2-3 person crew.
• Coordinates placement of traffic control devices to establish maintenance work zones per SCDOT manual.
• Assists with emergency and inclement weather operations, may require extended hours and 12-hour shifts.
