The South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a skilled highway maintenance worker to perform a wide range of duties on the state highway system, including operation of motorized equipment for construction, repair, and preservation of roads and bridges.

You will handle tasks such as patching, vegetation management, sign installation, drainage work, and routine maintenance, with on-call rotations and potential overtime during inclement weather.

Competenze

• Six (6) months of related work experience or an approved equivalent.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
• Must obtain a Class A CDL within six months of placement.

Mansioni

• Operates motorized equipment used in construction and maintenance of highways and bridges.
• Performs patching, vegetation management, and debris removal to improve visibility and safety.
• Installs signs and maintains drainage ditches and pipes.
• Assists in heavy equipment operation and safety inspections.
