Job summary

Qualifications

• No minimum training requirement.
• Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Operates small motorized equipment on the Hot Crew, such as dump trucks, rollers (4 tons), concrete mixers, and tractors with mowers in highway maintenance.
• Performs manual labor for road maintenance: clearing right-of-way, cleaning drainage/ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, paving driveways, laying pipes and bricks, repairing and building, pouring/finishing concrete for curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and catch basins.
• Performs traffic control in work zones, including flagging to ensure crew and public safety during roadway maintenance phases.
• Assists in emergency and bad weather operations; on-call for after-hour emergencies and possible extended hours or 12-hour shifts.
