Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's PennDOT is hiring a CDL Operator in Delaware County to support roadway safety and keep essential routes open. You will operate heavy equipment, assist with maintenance, and work with a team that prioritizes safety and service to the public.

This full-time role offers predictable hours (8am–4pm, Mon–Fri with summer shift 7am–3pm) and requires valid CDL, active Medical Examiner’s Certificate, and Tank Vehicle Endorsement.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania Class A or B CDL with Air Brake Restriction removed.
• Active Medical Examiner’s Certificate as required by FMCSA.
• PTA/trainee program or CDL training school completion.
• Possession of Tank Vehicle Endorsement (N) within probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery for roadway upkeep and construction activities.
• Clear snow and manage icy conditions during winter storms.
• Perform routine inspections and minor repairs on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and reports for equipment use and repairs.
• Collaborate with crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently.
