Job summary

PennDOT is seeking a motivated CDL Operator to support roadway and bridge work across Pennsylvania. You will operate heavy equipment, maintain CDL qualifications, and help keep communities safe by working with a dedicated highway crew.

The role requires CDL credentials, safety-focused work habits, and willingness to travel. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and shifts.

Qualifications

• Active CDL with Air Brake restriction removed (L) and E restriction removed.
• Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with FMCSA.
• CDL endorsements/certifications may be required for equipment.
• Complete CDL training program or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks, loaders, and maintenance equipment.
• Maintain CDL qualifications and perform safety inspections.
• Perform flagger duties to direct traffic in work zones.
• Dig, cut brush, and repair barriers as part of road work.
• Conduct basic equipment maintenance and keep tools clean.
