Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation, Bucks County, is seeking a CDL Operator A to run equipment that keeps Pennsylvania roads safe and open. You will work with highway crews, assist with roadway repairs, and support daily maintenance in a hands-on field role.

You will need active CDL with required endorsements, maintain safety practices, and participate in ongoing maintenance tasks. This is a full‑time, daytime schedule with no telework option.

Qualifications

• CDL and related endorsements required.
• Active Medical Examiner's Certificate required.
• Tank Vehicle Endorsement (N) required during probation.
• Air Brake Restriction removed (Class A or B) CDL is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks, loaders and other required machinery for maintenance work.
• Maintain required CDL credentials and complete daily checks.
• Perform flagging duties to guide traffic when equipment is not operated.
• Perform manual tasks such as cleaning culverts, brush cutting and barrier repairs.
• Make field adjustments, minor repairs and assist mechanics.
• Follow safety procedures, observe hazards, report accidents and wear protective gear.
• Assist with environmental protection requirements during maintenance activities.
