CDM Smith’s New England Transportation team seeks a Task Leader for highway design projects. This role can be based in Boston, MA, East Hartford, CT, or Manchester, NH, and focuses on technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering innovative transportation solutions.

You will oversee design development, ensure quality, review proposals, and collaborate with Project Leaders to meet client requirements while complying with regulations. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• 10 years of related experience.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate the technical advancement of highway design projects, communicate the vision for final deliverables, and ensure technical accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide day-to-day direct oversight of transportation planning and design projects, ensuring milestones and quality standards are met.
• Supervise, review, and mentor junior engineers; provide technical guidance and training for professional growth.
• Develop project design criteria, alignments, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with Project Technical Leaders and Project Managers to deliver high-complexity projects tailored to client requirements.
• Review draft designs for compliance with regulations; sign and seal designs as required.
• Perform site reviews and studies to align with location specs; update design requirements as needed.
• Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals; review drafts for adherence to standards.
