CDM Smith is seeking a Task Leader for highway design within its New England Transportation team. The role can be based in Boston, MA, East Hartford, CT, or Manchester, NH.

You will lead design projects, mentor junior staff, and ensure high-quality, compliant outcomes across the project lifecycle. The position emphasizes technical excellence, collaboration with Project Leaders, and the delivery of innovative transportation solutions for complex challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 10 years of related engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically/internationally.

Responsabilités

• Lead highway design projects, communicating the vision for final deliverables and ensuring technical accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide day-to-day oversight of transportation planning and design projects, ensuring milestones and quality standards are met.
• Supervise, review, and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and training for professional growth.
• Develop project design criteria, alignments, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with Project Technical Leaders and Project Managers to deliver high-complexity projects tailored to client requirements.
• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; sign and seal designs as required.
• Perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs align with location specifications.
• Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to client RFPs; review draft proposals for adherence to standards.
