Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Jacksonville, FL seeks an Entry Level Highway Engineer to join our team and assist with transportation projects. You will support Senior Project Engineers in planning and design tasks, developing roadway alignments, and preparing construction documents.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited), 0–4 years of related experience, and strong communication and teamwork skills. EIT is a plus; Microsoft Office proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited program.
• 0-4 years of relevant experience; internship preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; manage multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with design software tools listed above; MS Office proficiency.
• EIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop roadway horizontal and vertical alignments.
• Conduct roadside evaluation and design.
• Design maintenance of traffic plans.
• Prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Develop technical reports.
