Job summary

William Charles Construction is seeking an experienced Roadway Project Manager to oversee field operations, contract administration, budgeting, and scheduling across central Illinois projects including Springfield, Rockford, Peoria, and Naperville. The role requires travel, strong safety leadership, and expertise with heavy civil construction practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5–10 years of Project Management experience in concrete production, slipform paving, curb and gutter and bridge deck placement.
• Proficiency with HCSS Heavyjob, Procore, Vista/Viewpoint and scheduling tools (P‑6 or MS Project).

Responsibilities

• Manage field operations and contract administration, including safety, personnel, subcontract scheduling, procurement and scheduling.
• Lead safety planning integral to all planning and field activities.
• Oversee change orders, scope changes, budgets, and reliable cost tracking and logs.
• Develop and manage project budgets; monitor cost accounting and schedule impacts.
• Coordinate subcontractor and vendor relationships; mitigate risks and cost overruns.
• Plan equipment needs, skill requirements, and update schedules; ensure timely procurement.
• Maintain accurate change order, cost, and communication logs; report monthly projections.
