Job summary

CTL Engineering is seeking Inspectors/Technicians for construction inspection services across NC. You will engage in testing and inspection, supporting quality control for NCDOT, municipalities, and private clients on roadway, bridge, and utility projects.

You will learn and apply inspection methods, work with cross-functional teams, and travel regionally in central NC. The role emphasizes independent fieldwork with some office documentation and reports.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering, construction, testing and inspection principles.
• Experience with materials testing and standard testing methods.
• Ability to perform field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt and aggregates.
• Strong report writing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection and testing services related to earthwork, concrete, asphalt and utilities for NCDOT and clients.
• Conduct field testing and observation on roadway/bridge projects.
• Inspect concrete pours, rebar placement, pipe replacements and sampling of construction materials.
• Prepare and maintain project records and reports.
• Assist engineers in soil and materials investigations in the field.
• Ensure tests and observations conform to project specs and standards.
