Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking a Construction Inspector II to oversee roadway, bridge, and transit-related construction in the Washington, DC Metro area. Responsibilities include monitoring contractor compliance, ensuring safety, and performing on-site QA/QC testing.

The role requires reading plans, preparing daily reports, and may serve as lead inspector on small projects. Minimum 2 years CM/CEI experience with an ABET-equivalent degree and relevant certifications; travel to project sites is

Qualifications

• 2 years CM/CEI experience with AS or BS in civil engineering or related field.
• Certifications include Concrete Field, Soil & Aggregate, Asphalt Field
• Work Zone Traffic Control & Flagger, 30 Hour OSHA
• Candidate will attain additional certifications within 6 months

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractor compliance with plans and specs.
• Ensure adherence to project safety and QA/QC on-site testing.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and quantify work completed.
• Lead/only inspector on small projects (≤$5M).
• Assist PM/Resident Engineer with field assignments.
