Job summary

STV, Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking Construction Inspectors to support its Transportation Division on major roadway, bridge, rail, or tunnel projects. The role emphasizes safety, field testing, and client relations across the state.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of construction inspection experience and be prepared to obtain listed certifications within 6 months. Travel to sites and occasional night/weekend work apply as needed.

Qualifications

• Applicant must possess a minimum of 2 years of construction inspection experience.
• Certifications listed above should be obtainable within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Apply safety philosophy to all job responsibilities and ability to work safely in an outside environment.
• Monitor contractor compliance with plans and specifications.
• Establish engineering controls for the construction contractor and inspection of the work.
• Prepare daily inspection reports.
• Perform on-site material testing and sampling.
• Perform measurement and documentation of completed work.
• Read and interpret construction plans and technical specifications.
• Effectively communicate with project staff and clients, both verbal and written communication.
• Basic knowledge of computer and tablet (iPad) operation.
