Job summary

CDM Smith's Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group seeks a Senior CEI Bridge and Roadway Transportation Inspector 2 to inspect and monitor complex construction activities at project sites nationwide. The role requires reviewing drawings, applying knowledge of materials and methods, and communicating results to supervision.

On-site field work will span multiple project locations with significant travel.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
• Intermediate knowledge of mathematical functions including geometry and trigonometry.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn new applications.
• Advanced knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction.
• Ability to read/interpret construction plans, contract provisions, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor construction activities at project sites to ensure compliance with plans, specs and provisions.
• Use high-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Review drawings for construction inspection preparation and understand the design to be inspected.
• Document and communicate inspection results to supervisor.
