Job summary

CDM Smith's Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group is seeking an Inspector to support field activities at project sites across the United States. You will inspect roadway, bridge, drainage, and related works, read plans, and ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and contract provisions.

This on-site role offers real-world experience and opportunities to mentor junior inspectors. Expect frequent travel, strong math skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or ACI/NICET if required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to evaluate materials and processes and confirm conformance with plans and specs.
• Uses higher grade equipment and performs complex calculations for inspections.
• Works under supervision appropriate to demonstrated knowledge for the assignment.
• Review drawings to prepare for construction inspection.
• Document results and communicate them to the supervisor.
